My main complaint about this book is that it did not "catch" me from the start. I nearly discarded this book after Chapter 3, but once the heroine was introduced and her true mission, I was caught. I like the main character in this read. She's bad ass and is full of surprises. This book is definitely worth getting past the first few Chapters.Product details

I read, loved, and gave five stars to Hunter/Prey and Saint/Sinner so I was very anxious to read Finders/Keepers. Allie Krycek is a terrific character with a strong moral code and has developed into a real kick-a_ _ fighter. Unfortunately the situation she has gotten into this time with the murders and close-calls struck me as just a little too “fantastical”. I don’t expect books or movies to be totally realistic, but the incidents in this book were just too over-the-top for me. Also, there were unfinished story-lines, for instance, what happened with Hank and with Reese? Hank just disappeared from the story and the last interaction between Allie and Reese just begged for further explanation. I’m thinking (hoping) that the next Allie Krycek book will include more about Hank and Reese.
All negative comments aside, I still thoroughly enjoy the way Sam Sisavath writes. His stories move along at a fast pace with no filler sentences and hold my interest from beginning to end. I’m looking forward to the next Allie Krycek book.

This one starts with Allie, going by the name of Alice, in a diner. A diner she and the two men with her are robbing. One of the diners is an ex cop who tries to prevent the robbery. Alice shoots him in the leg and declines to shoot him in the head when Reese and Dwight the two men she's with urge her to do so.
All three of the robbers are masked and his robbery is a test for Alice. A test to see if she's up to what these two men are really involved in. The trafficking of young girls. Alice does pass the test.
Hank Pritchard is the name of the ex cop Alice shot. Alice searched Hank and left him a piece of paper in one of those pockets she searched. A piece of paper with a phone number to call. After a self debate Hank decides to call that number. A young girl answers and Hank decides to meet her. She of course knows what's going on and who Alice really is. An Alice who's looking for a girl named Faith who disappeared three years ago. The body of her boyfriend she was traveling with was found but there was no sign of Faith.
So begins a damned fine read.
This one has Allie, Reese, a Reese who's the brains of the outfit, a Reese who has thoughts of a relationship with Allie, Dwight the partner Reese has had for years, both men are more than capable, a tractor trailer loaded with young girls who are on the way into the sex trade, a Hank who meets the girl at a motel, she tells him her name is Lucy, Hank also meets Apollo Allies more than capable attack dog, the other men who work for Reese and Dwight, a shootout where two State Troopers are killed, a change of plan for Reese and Dwight, an Allie who takes a chance to free the girls, an Allie who is badly hurt, a Reese who Allie shot, a Reese who takes Allie with he and Dwight when they make their getaway, an Allie with a proposition for Reese and Dwight, an Allie Reese and Dwight who attack those pulling the strings, an Allie who finds Faith, an Allie who tries to kill Reese, a Reese who escapes and Allie doing her best to save a young woman beat the bad guys and stay alive.
Five Stars.
What can I say, I love this author and everything he writes ! This new adventure with Allie is very good, with nonstop action as the first 2 books, in fact I plan to go back and read the first two because they are so good. In this book, Allie is up against a more formidable villain and will likely carry over to the next book. And a times I almost wondered if she would make it out alive, let alone having accomplished her primary mission. Something different in this book is having someone else's point of view told, which tells me that character will be back and that sounds good to me as I think it will bring in different sides of Allie that we haven't really seen before.
You can certainly read this as a stand alone, but reading the first 2 books will really add to your enjoyment of this story. I can't wait for the next one, so do yourself a favor and pick up this entire series then move onto the Purge series, you won't regret it!
This latest in the Allie Krycek series is in some ways better than the first two and in some important ways worse.
First the good. We get a better feel for all the characters. Unlike the previous books the lesser characters are not completely under developed. The author gives some good and different points of view and a little character development.
Now the bad. There is a total lack of resolution or even any sense of a future for one character. Hank seems in the end not not only serve no function, but simply disappears from the scene without even a murmur. And the incident with Reese at the end is not only unexplained but unmentioned from Allies point of view. The bad of this book is the ending is rushed, flat and underwhelming. Hank, and Lucy, in the end serve no real purpose. Although we get a little attitude and character from Lucy, in the end why is she around? She does a few things in the middle, but then just drifts off, ignored with no real purpose. And Hank is just dropped. His whole story line just disappears.
I will still definitely read the next one, but I hope Sisivath doesn't rush and takes the time and effort to make sense of, and develop the characters further while sticking with the pacing that makes these fun reads.
